EasyNAS in RPI – what’s new

take look how my NAS looks like:

It’s not a plan, not a bird, it’s RPI 3 running EasyNAS + HD
It finally here, the exact same code that runs on x86 now runs on RPI. a huge break throw for anyone that want to create a DIY NAS project.
the changes were under the hood. moved to OpenSUSE Tumbleweed that supports all the architecture available.
I will also publish EasyNAS for RPI64, RPI32, i386. it’s now easy to support any architecture.

The Kit i’m using is from Geekworm:

it include case, power management and a fan. I will hav support in EasyNAS so it will be integrated naturally (increase the fan when it’s hot, or shutdown easynas when clicking power button)

Stay tune,

Yariv.

EasyNAS on RPI

I am pleased to announced that starting version 1.0.2, EasyNAS will support RPI hardware on 64bit (can run on RPI4, RPI3b).
This is a huge step into bulding a DIY NAS from RPI, I’m planning to buy a kit and build a great NAS based on EasyNAS.
The current RPI version will only support ethernet , but I’m planning to add wireless support

please let me know if there are any issues with the RPI version.

New WordPress site, new repo site, new EasyNAS

I took a very long vacation from EasyNAS to work on other projects, but now I’m back. Everything is new:
Build new repo site for EasyNAS
moved my wordpress site to a managed wordpress provider
Created an email account so people could reach me
and EasyNAS 1.0 Beta 6 that fixed an old bug with AMD systems.
I’m continuing working on addons ( iSCSI is nearly finished) and got so many ideas regarding future version.
With the addons topology and repo it will be easier to implement and update.
RC version is coming .
